I'm curious to know what type of plants everyone uses in their tank and why.
Do you use just plastic because they are easy to clean and hardwearing? Silk because they look nicer? Real for the natural factor (which ones)? A mix of them all?
Personally I use a mix of both plastic and silk in the tanks constantly, with the silk plants kept up off the substrate and far enough away they won't need cleaning to often and won't get completely ground into tatty rags. I add in live plants occasionally, usually in the form of sprouting seeds or small edible ones, and have some growing on for planting in at a later date.

I used to grow plants, but since I've added more canopy and cover I've switched to silk and plastic. I don't really care which one, they all look about the same to me.

I like the fabric ones, they look prettier than plastic but won't get so squished.
