Reusing Giant African Land Snail Shells

This has been something I've debated for a while, I've kept many species over the years and the recent heavy rain uncovered some shells in the garden. Eventually I decided that it wasn't something I was ok to do with pet snails but these shells were rescues I had taken on that died shortly after. I cleaned them thoroughly, boiled well and then polished with a little olive oil to help mask some of the flaws poor care had given them and actually they came out pretty well! These are perfect for my violas.

The front shell is actually one of my violas, as you can see these will be a little big for now!
